Daily Rhythm
Our Homeschool Community is comprised of joyful learning and offering the gifts of ourselves to each other.
We meet weekly, Monday afternoons, for a wide variety of classes. Our classes are all taught by parents in the community wherein we are able to provide knowledge we already have and learn from the experience of teaching a group of children.
Children of preschool and kindergarten age meet together for the entire session and do not receive subject-specific lessons. The class is held with great care and intention by parents who understand the importance of rhythm and imitation at this age.
Grade school children are taught in groups separated by age range in order to allow growth needed alongside peers. Some classes that have been provided are:
Joyful Singing/Choir
Poetry
Knitting and Crochet
Woodworking
Movement
Games
Practical Arts
Fiber and Dyeing
. . . and more!
There is time before and after formal classes for all-ages to be together.
Our community of parents use a wide range of curricula in their home lessons, and these classes are not intended to be a replacement for home teaching. Many parents utilize a Waldorf curriculum or pedagogy, and our classes are generally inspired by these indications. However, the ultimate foundation is always freedom of the teacher, both at home and in the class.
We meet in Sammamish, WA at Pine Lake Covenant Church. We are ever grateful to their community for allowing us the generous use of their space.
